Gujarat Maritime Board’s initiative of setting up the Gujarat Maritime University is crucial for reinstating the position of our country as the leader in international and maritime trade.

International trade and maritime industry comprising a diverse set of entities and a complex, yet robust framework of laws, regulations, institutions, procedures and norms serve as the backbone of the international trade and thus, the global economy. The international and domestic community is always in need of well-qualified, talented and trained personnel to ensure uninterrupted functioning of maritime trade. It gives me immense pride that Gujarat Maritime University has been a pioneer in the country in addressing this need, making sure that theory meets practice through innovative conceptualization of the programme, quality education, right selection of candidates and international collaboration.
