The placement procedure is conducted and managed by Internship & Placement Cell of the Gujarat Maritime University.
If the recruiters wish to, they can conduct a pre-placement meeting with the students to provide information about the organizations, the jobs profiles being offered, terms and conditions and any other relevant information. This will be followed by a question and answer session, wherein student committee members can put forth their queries, if any, concerning the organization, job description and roles being offered. The recruiters are urged to indicate their preferred dates for such meetings/presentation either by e-mail or telephonic conversation a week prior to their arrival.
The applications for prospective job profiles will be invited and recruiters will be provided with the resumes of interested students for perusal by the Internship & Placement Cell.
Once the applications of the students are sent across, the recruiters may shortlist candidates suitable for their organization and inform the Cell, following which, necessary arrangements for a personal interview or a group discussion shall be made within a week, as per the requirements of the recruiter. Recruiters are advised to opt for interviews via audio / video-conferencing, and the Cell shall facilitate the arrangements for the same, as and when required. In case, the recruiter schedules any other date, it has to be conveyed to the Cell immediately. In case the recruiters do not want to conduct a pre-interview screening, the resume(s) of interested and eligible students shall be provided to them, before the final interview.
The recruiter can make the final offer to the candidate after completion of interview(s). A valid offer should ideally include all the relevant information such as the date of appointment, designation or role, location, remuneration and other relevant information and terms and conditions of the employment.
