Dr. Chandra Kant Upadhyay has a total of 12 years of experience. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor-Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Gujarat Maritime University, Gandhinagar, India. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at Symbiosis International University. He has completed Post-Doctoral from Supply Chain Management Centre, at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) worked at the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India- Project. Prior to these positions, he held the role of Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Management Studies at Manipal University Jaipur, India.
Before pursuing his Ph.D. (IIITA), he gained 4 years of experience in the INDO-RCUK Bridging Urban and Rural Divide project at IIIT Allahabad, in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He holds an MBA in Software Enterprise Management from C-DAC (Ministry of Electronics & IT) and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from GZSCET Campus, Punjab. Additionally, he worked as a Business Analyst in the IT industry. He Cleared National Level exam GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) conducted by IIT Delhi.
His research interests include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, E-commerce, the Sharing Economy, Crowdshipping, Maritime Management, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship, Carbon Emissions, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain Applications. He has several research papers published in reputed journals such as Taylor and Francis, Springer, and Elsevier, and has presented his research at various international conferences including those at IIT Bombay and IIM Lucknow. He is also a reviewer for reputed SSCI journals and a member of editorial boards of various journals.
